"My work features narratives and conversations about what it means to have a Pakistani identity outside of Pakistan. I am interested in language and translation and am inspired by political figures and poets who speak about the struggle against oppression, specifically in Pakistan, but also in America and the rest of the world. I consider myself a painter but i create many pieces out of fabric, combining textiles with painting, printmaking and embellishment.”
